Investigators seek NCCIA’s help to unlock Mir Raza’s digital footprint

Karachi: As the murder investigation of young businessman Mir Raza Ali intensifies, investigators have turned to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for assistance in unlocking Raza's digital footprint, disclosed on Wednesday. Raza, an IBA graduate and owner of the eatery Wafflix, went missing on July 28 and his body, riddled with bullets, was discovered the following day in bushes near Shahi Qila Ground in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.

A seven-member team, led by DIG Amir Farooqui, is currently probing the case. Sources reveal the team is seeking Raza's digital records and WhatsApp account details from NCCIA to ascertain if there is any suspicious activity. Police remain resolute to expose the killers. IGP Javed Alam Odho, speaking to Abad, expressed concern over the murder and extortion threats.

ABAD chairman Muhammad Hasan Bakhshi, addressing an association meeting, emphasized the need for justice for Raza's parents and highlighted that builders are receiving extortion calls from international numbers, threatening bomb attacks on their projects. The IGP assured the public that the police would not relent until the culprits involved in the murder are apprehended.

He also mentioned that red notices have been issued for overseas extortionists, and that crime rates have declined in Karachi by 14 percent and in Sindh by 70 percent. Ashraf Qureshi of Tehreek-i-Bahali Karachi called for a joint investigation into Raza's murder during a press conference.
