‘Huge incentive for me’: Vedika Pinto says working with Vikrant Massey was ‘very intimidating’

Musafir Cafe, a Netflix original series based on a book with a complex love story, premiered last week and quickly captured the audience's attention. The story features Sudha Tripathi, portrayed by Vedika Pinto, alongside Mahima Makwana and Vikrant Massey. Pinto, speaking to Bollywood Hungama, shared that the role was appealing due to her love for love stories and the incentive of working with Massey.

However, she admitted that being on set with the actor was intimidating. According to Seema Rekha, a consultant, feeling intimidated by a senior colleague often stems from perceiving their authority, experience, and position within the hierarchy. Such feelings can lead to anxiety, even when there is no real threat, but this doesn't mean one is less competent.

Rekha suggests identifying the source of discomfort, questioning its justification, and shifting focus from "how do they see me?" to "how can I contribute?". Preparation can help build confidence, and it's important to participate in discussions and share opinions despite any fear or discomfort. Being intimidated by a senior colleague doesn't mean one is less capable, and respecting seniority doesn't equate to feeling inferior.
