How I almost died in South Africa – Apostle Nyamekye recounts (Video)

Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, recounted his harrowing experiences with insecurity while living in South Africa for six years. In a conversation with journalist Fred Duhoe, the apostle revealed that he narrowly escaped death on two occasions, both involving armed robberies. The second incident was particularly dangerous, putting his life at risk as he was leaving the country.

Nyamekye also shared a recent incident that compelled him to return to South Africa, following the kidnapping of a national deacon of The Church of Pentecost during a church service. He emphasized that his personal experiences had given him a profound understanding of the security challenges faced by Ghanaians and other foreigners living and working in South Africa.

The apostle's insights come as there is growing concern over the safety of foreign nationals in South Africa, particularly in light of recent xenophobic incidents and security concerns involving Ghanaians. The Ghanaian government commended The Church of Pentecost for sheltering 500 Ghanaians during their evacuation from South Africa.
