Honor Robot Phone Brings Moving 200MP AI Camera With Auto Tracking

Honor unveils its Robot Phone in China, a device boasting an AI-powered robotic camera system. This cutting-edge phone features a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz, and local peak brightness of 6,800 nits. The phone is available in Silver and Gray. Under the hood, the robot is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. It runs on MagicOS 10, built upon Android 16, and incorporates its proprietary Yoyo AI assistant.

The Robot Phone's standout feature is its motorized gimbal camera, capable of capturing 200MP photos with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture. It supports 4K video recording and works in tandem with Honor's H1 imaging chip. Users can control the camera through voice commands, adjusting its position and focusing on specific subjects.

The AI subject tracking offers real-time automatic framing and tracking during various activities such as vlogging, livestreaming, and video calls. This innovation stems from Honor's collaboration with German cinema equipment manufacturer ARRI, enabling native Log-C3 video encoding, on-device LUT color grading, and a dedicated cinema mode.

The device also sports a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom, along with a 50MP ultrawide camera for macro photography. The Robot Phone is equipped with a 7,060 mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It comes in two configurations: a 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant priced at $1,482, and a 16GB RAM and 1TB storage version for $1,927. As of now, the Robot Phone's availability outside of China remains undisclosed.
