Homers from Ohtani and Betts power Dodgers to a 4-2 victory and a sweep of the Royals

Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Hunter Feduccia each hit a home run as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Kansas City Royals 4-2 in a sweep, according to AP reports. The victory came after a seven-game skid, with the revitalized Dodgers securing their second win in a row. After Freddie Freeman took a nasty spill down the Royals’ dugout stairs, Tommy Edman pinch-hit for him in the eighth inning.

Ohtani’s two-run, go-ahead homer in the third was his 27th of the season and his first in a week. Eric Lauer pitched six innings of four-hit ball, allowing one earned run and striking out six, before being replaced by Landon Knack, who earned his third save of the season. Kansas City’s Salvador Perez drove in an early run but left the game in the sixth with a right elbow issue.

Daniel Lynch IV and Seth Lugo will face off on Friday in Anaheim, with the Angels hosting the Dodgers in a four-game series.
