Google has unveiled Gemini 3.7 Flash, the latest iteration in its Flash series of workhorse models designed for coding and agent tasks. This update arrives just three weeks after the previous 3.6 Flash release, following direct input from developers and advancements in algorithmic innovation.

Gemini 3.7 Flash offers significant improvements over its predecessor, especially in software engineering, knowledge work, and web development. Priced at half the cost of the original 3.6 Flash per million tokens, it delivers enhanced performance in coding tasks such as debugging and issue resolution, with higher first-pass code accuracy. Notably, it generates production-ready code with greater efficiency, outperforming its predecessor in key benchmarks like FrontierCode 1.1 Main and DeepSWE v1.1.

In web development, 3.7 Flash produces more functional layouts and feature-complete applications with fewer prompts, outperforming 3.6 Flash on Arena.ai's WebDev Arena with an Elo score of 1588 compared to 1538. For knowledge-intensive fields like finance, law, and biosciences, it demonstrates superior reasoning and accuracy, excelling in benchmarks such as GDP.pdf (34.0% vs 22.0%) and AutomationBench (30.4% vs 17.0%).

Gemini 3.7 Flash will be accessible to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers through Gemini Spark, a 24/7 AI agent available in over 160 countries. This model update enables Spark to more efficiently handle knowledge work tasks, such as consolidating files, drafting emails, and updating status documents in Google Workspace apps. The update also strengthens Frontier Safety safeguards against misuse in sensitive domains like CBRN and cyber offense, balancing safety with beneficial applications in agreement with Google's bioresilience and cyber program policies.
