Friday sermon, August 14, 2026: Our youth — aspiration and values

In the 14th of August, 2026 sermon, the focus was on the youth and their aspirations and values. The sermon reminded believers that Allah has granted youth the strength and ability to build and achieve. It is during youth that one can reach their highest potential, guided by faith, values, and wisdom.

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had mentioned a group of young people who were steadfast in their obedience to Allah, and they would be granted Allah's shade on the Day of Judgment when shade would be scarce. Thus, young people should be mindful of Allah and consider what they send into the future, for Allah is all-aware of their deeds.

The sermon encouraged young people to honor and care for their parents, recognizing them as the fruits of their upbringing. It also stressed the importance of protecting one's health, time, and knowledge, using the Prophet Muhammad's advice to make the best use of one's youth and free time.

The sermon advised young people to continually learn and acquire new skills, as well as to verify information before sharing it. It emphasized the importance of good character, chastity, deliberation, and wisdom in one's conduct.

Young individuals were encouraged to contribute to their nation, building upon the values of their Founding Father Sheikh Zayed. They were urged to emulate his wisdom, care for the human being, determination, and respect for humanity. The sermon concluded by reminding Allah to be pleased with the early Companions of the Prophet Muhammad and to protect the youth, endowing them with faith, mindfulness, knowledge, and wisdom.
