European Championships: Irish in action on Day 5

Day five of the European Athletics Championships and European Aquatics Championships is underway in Birmingham and Paris. Irish athletes Ellen Walshe, Danielle Hill, the Wiffen brothers, Kate O'Connor and others are making waves in track and pool events.

In swimming, live coverage is available on RTÉ2 and RTÉplayer starting at 5.15pm. Rosalie Phelan and Adam Bradley both placed 7th in their respective heats but failed to advance. Eoin Corby, Darragh Greene, Jack Kelly, and Grace Davison also did not qualify from their heats.

In athletics, Kate O'Connor is currently third overall, having posted a personal best of 1.86 meters in the high jump and placing 11th in the shot put. She competes in three remaining events: long jump, javelin throw, and 800m. Andrew Egan, Jack Raftery, Joe Doody, and Sean Doggett, along with Sophie Becker, Jenna Breen, Cliodhna Manning, and Arlene Crossan, did not qualify for the final.
