In a shocking case of vengeance, a 45-year-old man serving a life sentence for a 2018 murder was shot and killed in Sanganer Open Prison. On Wednesday evening, Gangasahay Kumawat was riding his motorcycle to the facility when he was stopped and killed by two men on a scooter near Mishra Market in Janaki Vihar Colony. Deputy Commissioner of Police Jaipur West Prashant Kiran confirmed Kumawat had left the prison around 5 pm before being targeted.

Two suspects, Sonu Rajak, 19, and Amit Rana, 22, were initially arrested along with Kanhaiya Lal Gurjar, 40, who allegedly provided the weapons. Police believe Ayush Gurjar, the son of the victim Mahendra Gurjar, arranged for the killing. Empty cartridges and a magazine were found at the scene, and a case was filed under various Indian laws. The suspects are currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
