Disney+ snaps up Gary Neville’s The Overlap and new Wayne Rooney hosted show

Disney+ has secured the streaming rights to Gary Neville's show Stick To Football and a new program featuring Wayne Rooney, co-hosted by Mark Goldbridge. The agreement will see Disney+ broadcast 40 episodes of Stick To Football, a popular football discussion show, this season. The streaming platform will also host a new show called Stick To United, which Rooney co-hosts with Goldbridge.

Both shows will remain available on YouTube as well, but this distribution deal provides Neville's business with a broader audience and helps navigate a potential social media ban for under-18s. This follows a similar deal with Netflix for Gary Lineker's The Rest Is Football show. Neville expressed pride in partnering with Disney+, stating that the collaboration feels right for everyone involved and will expand their reach without compromising their identity.

With The Overlap majority acquired by LBC owner Global, Goldbridge, whose real name is Brent Di Cesare, has amassed a significant subscriber base and is one of the most prominent football content creators. Rooney is set to star in a behind-the-scenes docuseries on Disney+, titled The Real Rooneys, which will explore his family life with wife Coleen and their four sons.
