The Tata Group is experiencing a leadership shift as N Chandrasekaran announces his decision to resign from his position as chairman of Tata Sons. Chandrasekaran will remain in the role until February 2027, when his current tenure concludes. With Chandrasekaran's departure, the Tata Group will now search for a successor within the next six months.

Notably, Noel Tata has taken on the role of Chairman of Tata Trusts, the principal shareholder of Tata Sons, following the death of Ratan Tata in 2024. Noel Tata's ascent to this position was not an easy one, having taken over after two failed attempts and a decade-long journey to achieve real influence within the Trusts. His growing role in the group's governance could position him as a key player in the leadership transition at the Tata conglomerate's helm.
