Carrick urges Man Utd to push for more signings to boost title bid

Michael Carrick has urged Manchester United to make more signings to enhance their title aspirations. Since the end of last season, United have spent approximately £85 million (US$114 million) on players such as Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Karl Darlow. However, this investment is significantly lower than that of their Premier League competitors, with clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea investing heavily in high-profile signings.

Carrick recognizes that United must bolster their squad with quality and depth to contend for the English title, which they haven't won since 2013, and to compete in the Champions League. United have never invested more than £89.5 million in a single player, the amount paid for Paul Pogba in 2016. Speaking on Thursday, Carrick expressed that while they are satisfied with their current signings, they continue to seek additional talent.

He acknowledged the club's financial constraints but emphasized the importance of pushing boundaries to secure success. Carrick also highlighted Marcus Rashford's return from his World Cup stint, praising his contribution to the team. The manager remained cautious about their title ambitions, stating that while they have the potential to achieve something exceptional, they cannot guarantee a specific outcome.
