Bring your spreadsheet data to life with Sheets canvas

Google Sheets has introduced a new feature called Sheets canvas, which allows users to transform their data into interactive, visual mini-apps using artificial intelligence. This tool is built on top of Google's Gemini AI and enables users to create custom layouts by simply describing their needs in natural language. Changes made to the visual representation automatically update the original spreadsheet.

Sheets canvas is particularly useful for organizing data for various purposes, such as tracking school assignments, managing fantasy football rosters, planning events, or comparing side hustle income. It provides an easy-to-understand visual experience that simplifies data analysis and management.

For students, Sheets canvas can be used to create interactive study aids, track progress, set reminders, and visualize weekly schedules. Fantasy football managers can build a custom dashboard to track player performance and visualize their path to victory. Organizing seating arrangements and meal choices for events becomes effortless with this feature.

Sheets canvas is now available globally in English to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. It is being rolled out starting today to Google Workspace customers on Business or Enterprise Standard and Plus plans, as well as to Google AI Pro for Education add-on subscribers. To get started, open a Google Sheets spreadsheet and select the "Create canvas" option in the Ask Gemini side panel.
