Apple reopening Oracle store in Reading, UK, as Basingstoke store closes

Apple is set to reopen its store in the Oracle Shopping Centre in Reading, UK, with a completely redesigned layout in December. This comes as the company decides to close its store in Basingstoke in November, leaving the company with a total of 38 retail stores in the UK.

Apple's newly revamped Reading store will offer customers a range of facilities, including an experience room for exploring products, a designated Genius Bar and Apple Pick Up area for collecting online orders, and free Today at Apple sessions to help customers make the most of their devices.

The store first opened its doors in June 2011. Apple's decision to close the Basingstoke store comes ahead of the Reading store's reopening. Apple Festival Place in Basingstoke will remain open until November 2026, after which its team members will either move to the Reading store or work at other Apple Store locations.

Apple expressed its appreciation for serving the Basingstoke community for the past 15 years and looks forward to welcoming customers at nearby Apple Stores, on Apple.com, the Apple Store app, and at Apple Authorized Resellers and Service Providers throughout South East England.

Over the past 18 months, Apple has revamped its stores in Regent Street, London, and Lakeside shopping center in Essex. Additionally, stores in Birmingham and Southampton are undergoing upgrades. Worldwide, Apple has opened eleven new stores and relocated seventeen others with newer designs in the past 18 months, including Apple Miami WorldCenter and Apple Downtown Detroit.
