APM returns Dantalle as national chairman, elects 26 national officers

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) reaffirmed Yusuf Mamman Dantalle as its National Chairman for another term and selected 26 additional national officers during its National Convention in Bauchi. The event also saw Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed inaugurated as the party's National Leader, while Oyo State Governor and APM presidential candidate Engr.

Oluseyi Makinde called for unity among opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general election. Deliberations took place at Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu Square, Government House, Bauchi, with delegates from all over the country in attendance. Engr. Makinde emphasized the necessity of credible opposition in sustaining democracy and urged the new leadership to collaborate with other opposition parties to provide Nigerians with a viable alternative in the upcoming election.

He highlighted the importance of measurable outcomes, such as job creation, education, healthcare, food security, and public safety, in assessing governance. Engr. Makinde also advocated for greater decentralization of power, arguing that Nigeria could not reach its full potential if critical decisions were confined to the federal level.

APM National Chairman Dantalle pledged to bolster the party's national structure, expand its membership, deepen internal democracy, and intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections.
