Anthony Volpe's Struggles Continue in Minors With Viral Triple-A Incident

New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe has been struggling this season, leading to his demotion to Triple-A in August. Volpe then challenged the final pitch of the at-bat, a fastball, and struck out. The incident resulted in both the RailRiders losing their challenges after just six pitches. While Volpe has been hitting well in the minors, this setback could impact his return to MLB next season, especially considering the hot streak of prospect George Lombard Jr., who has two homers in seven games.

With Jazz Chisholm Jr. out of contract following this season, the Yankees may open a spot for Volpe in the infield. However, if he continues to perform in the minors and improve his plate discipline, he could still provide value to the team.
