Al-Qafeel walkway in Al-Makhwah opens as new urban leisure hub

The Al-Qafeel walkway in Al-Makhwah has officially opened, transforming the area into a prominent urban leisure hub. The municipality has invested in a comprehensive upgrade of the 27,000-square-meter space, which now boasts state-of-the-art amenities for residents and visitors alike.

The project includes a 500-meter-long walkway, complemented by an identical path for scooters and bicycles, providing safe and enjoyable routes for all. Complementing these pathways, the walkway features 4,000 square meters of walkways and pavements, ensuring ease of access to the site's facilities.

In terms of sports facilities, the enhancements cover 3,300 square meters. The project comprises a modern football pitch with an artificial turf surface, complete with floodlights for evening games. Additionally, a volleyball court adds to the recreational opportunities, further enriching the site's appeal to sports enthusiasts.

Beneath the green spaces, a 120-meter-long rainwater drainage channel has been installed. This innovative addition not only protects the facilities but also promotes sustainability, demonstrating the municipality's commitment to environmentally-friendly urban planning.

Greenery is a centerpiece of the rejuvenated Al-Qafeel. The park and walkway now encompass more than 8,000 square meters of lush landscape, home to over 70 trees. Plans are already underway to plant additional trees, ensuring the urban environment remains vibrant and inviting for future generations.

To further enhance the visitor experience, decorative lighting has been installed throughout the site. Restrooms for men and women have also been upgraded, providing convenience and comfort to all who use the facilities. The walkway's surrounding walls have undergone a meticulous renovation process, featuring natural stone and decorative quartz stone patterns. These design elements harmonize with the area's architectural style, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication.

This project represents a significant step forward in Al-Makhwah Municipality's ongoing efforts to develop public facilities and green spaces. By expanding recreational opportunities and improving the quality of life, the Al-Qafeel walkway project serves to enhance the area's overall appeal and fosters a sense of community pride.
