Aadhaar Number No Longer Mandatory For Madhya Pradesh Board Class 10, 12 Exam Forms

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: Students in Class 10 and 12 board exams will no longer need an Aadhaar number to fill out their examination forms for the 2026-27 academic session, according to the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE). This change follows a directive from the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI). The decision was prompted by challenges schools and students encountered in creating and verifying Aadhaar IDs.

Earlier, MPBSE made Aadhaar mandatory for filling examination forms, but a significant number of students still lacked or failed to verify their Aadhaar IDs. With over 17 lakh students enrolled in Class 10 and 12, approximately 20% of them do not possess Aadhaar IDs. The Aadhaar requirement was introduced to keep students' academic records permanent through the Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) portal, which links students' details including course, marks, certificates, degree, blood group, physical information, mark sheets, character certificates, and transfer certificates.

However, schools faced issues generating Aadhaar IDs due to incomplete or erroneous documents, and discrepancies between Aadhaar details and records on the Samagra portal, leading to verification and upload difficulties.
