24-Year-Old LLM Student From Aishbagh Gets Death Threats Over Rape Case Withdrawal

A 24-year-old LLM student from Aishbagh in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, has alleged that she received death threats and was pressured to withdraw a rape case against Ayush Srivastava. The alleged victim was a salesgirl at a mall when she met Srivastava in September 2023. They began a relationship and she claimed that Srivastava promised marriage to her on October 27, 2023, in a Hotel Pride Inn in Rachna Nagar.

However, when she refused to marry him, Srivastava allegedly continued to assure her of marriage for nearly a year before refusing. She then reported the alleged sexual relationship established through a false promise of marriage to the Govindpura police, leading to the registration of a case against Srivastava.

The woman reportedly obtained anticipatory bail from the Madhya Pradesh High Court at Jabalpur before the case was registered. According to the complaint, after this, Srivastava allegedly began pressuring her to withdraw the case. Police station incharge Sandeep Pawar confirmed that between December 18, 2025, and July 9, 2026, the woman received threatening messages via four different Instagram accounts.

These accounts were reportedly created solely to pressure her into withdrawing the case, with stern consequences threatened if she refused. The police are currently examining the social media accounts, messages, and other evidence as part of their investigation.
