Zelenskyy: Ukraine used 15 types of weapons in Novorossiysk attack

On August 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine announced that the country had launched a drone and missile strike against Russian Black Sea infrastructure in Novorossiysk. This unprecedented operation utilized 15 distinct types of weaponry simultaneously, according to Zelenskyy. The president hailed the attack as a means to enforce long-range sanctions on Russia through the use of Ukrainian arms.

He expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian soldiers for their precision and commended the developers and producers of Ukraine's weaponry for enhancing the nation's capabilities. The attack involved Palianytsia, Peklo, and Bars strike drones, R-360 Neptune cruise missiles, as well as naval drones Sargan and Mamai. While Zelenskyy did not provide a comprehensive list of all the weapons used, he confirmed that the operation damaged Russian naval vessels in Novorossiysk Bay.

Two frigates equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, known for targeting Ukrainian cities, were among the vessels affected. Additionally, the strikes targeted other Russian facilities that supported the war effort, including specialized terminals for loading oil and other export commodities. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine would continue to push Russia towards peace through the use of long-range and medium-range sanctions.
