Xbox Reveals Stunning 3D-Moulded Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition Controllers

Microsoft has unveiled two striking Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition 3D-moulded Xbox controllers, echoing the game's rugged and battle-worn aesthetic. The primary controller boasts charred black 3D-sculpted grips and a vivid blood-red core, while the second variant, the Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition with Xbox Design Lab, showcases a silver skull and customizable Chainsaw Lancers.

Priced at $89.99 / £84.99 / €89.99, the main controller will be available for pre-orders starting now, with an official launch scheduled for September 30. The Xbox Design Lab variant will be released on the same day. Functionally, these controllers are compatible with Xbox Series X/S, Windows 10/11 PCs, mobile devices, and tablets, as well as Xbox One.

To complement these controllers, an 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox controllers will be offered, featuring magnetic alignment, drop-and-charge functionality, and safeguards against overcharging and overheating.

The much-anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, an alien-infested first-person shooter, is set for release on October 6 exclusively for Xbox Series X/S. The game is not available on PlayStation. An open beta has launched, though some players have expressed frustration with the game's familiar controls and movement. IGN's preview has praised the game's faithful Gears gameplay, with critics noting that the classic combo of Gnasher and Longshot remains as satisfying as ever.
