Will Test last 3 days or 5: Bangladesh captain asked before Australia game

Captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto of the Bangladesh cricket team was recently asked whether the upcoming Test match in Australia would be over in three days or five. This question arose following the team's poor performance in their recent tour game against a Cricket Australia XI, where they were dismissed for only 54 runs in the second innings.

However, Shanto remained resolute, stating that he and his team would aim to play the match till the fifth day, taking it session by session. He expressed that the team has been preparing for bouncy wickets, which is expected in Australia, and they have arrived in Australia well ahead of the scheduled Test to get accustomed to the conditions.

Shanto's counterpart, Australian captain Pat Cummins, also gave an honest answer, acknowledging that the team is nervous about facing Bangladesh as they possess some big players. He emphasized that each Test is a new challenge and that cricket in Australia brings a variety of experiences. Both captains acknowledged the significance of playing a Test match in Australia, highlighting the opportunity to face a strong opponent in such a prestigious venue.
