Wike shuts secretariat of dissolved FG houses committee

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has ordered the closure of the secretariat for the dissolved Ad-hoc Committee on Sales of Federal Government Houses in the FCT, according to a statement from the FCT Administration. The decision comes into effect immediately. Wike also approved the establishment of a new division within the Department of Land Administration to manage matters related to the sales of Federal Government Houses in the FCT.

This division will now assume the duties previously undertaken by the now-defunct committee. The statement emphasized that the secretariat was kept in place after the committee finished its tasks to address issues arising from its work. However, the FCT Administration now urges the public to contact the Department of Land Administration for any inquiries concerning the sale of Federal Government Houses in the FCT, as the committee and its secretariat are no longer operational.

The FCT Administration also cautioned against fraudsters who may attempt to impersonate staff, officers, or members of the defunct committee or its secretariat.
