VIDEO: Osun senator Fadahunsi leaves police headquarters after questioning over killing comment

Sen. Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, departed the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo following a prolonged interrogation over comments made during an All Progressives Congress campaign rally. Initially invited by the police to appear at the State Criminal Investigation Department on Wednesday, Fadahunsi was questioned about a video clip from the rally, where he was perceived to be encouraging his supporters to "kill" members of the Accord Party.

The Osun State Police Command had previously warned the senator that his remarks were deemed threatening and could exacerbate tensions ahead of the gubernatorial election on Saturday. Upon a brief stay at the police facility, reported by News Central, Fadahunsi was observed leaving with an entourage in a video. However, specifics regarding the interrogation remained undisclosed as neither the police nor the senator had released any official statements at the time of reporting.

The upcoming Osun State governorship election, set for Saturday, pits incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party against opponents from the APC, the Accord Party, and various other parties. The campaign season has been characterized by heightened political tension, with security forces maintaining a vigilant presence throughout the state.

Fadahunsi, who serves as a senator for Osun East in the National Assembly, is a prominent opposition voice in the state and has been actively involved in the APC's governorship campaign leading up to the election.
