VIDEO: Osun senator Fadahunsi leaves police headquarters after questioning over killing comment

Osun East Senatorial District Representative Francis Fadahunsi has exited the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo following a prolonged interrogation concerning remarks he made at a campaign rally. Earlier, the lawmaker had obliged a police invitation to appear before the State Criminal Investigation Department in connection with a video from an All Progressives Congress rally in Ilesa.

In the footage, his statement was perceived as encouraging his supporters to "kill" members of the rival Accord Party. The Osun State Police Command had warned that the remarks were threatening and inciting, potentially escalating tensions ahead of the Osun State gubernatorial election scheduled for Saturday. Upon spending hours at the police headquarters, Fadahunsi was captured leaving the building with an entourage in a video obtained by News Central.

However, specifics regarding the interrogation remained undisclosed, as neither the police nor the senator had released any official statement at the time of reporting. The upcoming gubernatorial election will pit incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party against candidates from various parties, including the All Progressives Congress, the Accord Party, and others.

The campaign has been characterized by heightened political tension, with security forces maintaining a vigilant presence throughout the state. Fadahunsi is a prominent member of the political opposition in Osun State and has been actively involved in the APC's governorship campaign leading up to the election.
