Unhappy PSG given extra Super Cup dressing room

Paris St-Germain (PSG) have been provided with an extra dressing room for the Super Cup match against Europa League winners Aston Villa, following their vocal dissatisfaction with the facilities at Red Bull Arena. The reigning Champions League holders expressed their displeasure with their accommodations before the game on Wednesday.

PSG, under the management of Unai Emery, are utilizing Red Bull Salzburg’s home dressing room, causing them to share the away one in Austria with their opponents. However, they made their concerns known during a pre-game meeting on Monday, expressing that their dressing room was too small for their needs, especially considering that they are the current Super Cup champions after defeating Tottenham on penalties last year.

UEFA, in response to these grievances, allocated them a spare dressing room, typically used by officials, to ensure they have the same space as Villa. Despite this adjustment, no officials were moved to accommodate the PSG team. The squad, consisting of 20 players including potential transfer targets Bradley Barcola and Vitinha, as well as Lucas Digne who recently joined from Villa, will face Aston Villa in a rematch of their Champions League final victory over Arsenal in May.

Aston Villa are participating in their first Super Cup since 1982, following their loss of the trophy for the first time since then.
