The Pixel 11 Pro XL Has Main Character Energy Despite a $100 Price Hike

Google has unveiled the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL flagship smartphones, retaining many features from their predecessors but adding a few upgrades. One of the highlights is the new Tensor G6 processor, enhanced camera capabilities, and a peachy color option. The Pixel 11 Pro starts at $1,099 with 256GB storage, while the Pixel 11 Pro XL is priced at $1,299, a $100 increase compared to last year's Pixel 10 Pro XL.

However, the RAM has been reduced from 16GB in the Pixel 10 models to 12GB in the Pixel 11 lineup. Despite this, Google claims the phones will remain usable with 7 years of software and security updates until at least 2033. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL feature a glass-and-metal design with a pill-shaped camera bar across the back, now featuring a larger glass area with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for improved durability.

A new LED flash, called HiLight, doubles as a notification alert, lighting up when the phone is face down and glowing in customizable colors for incoming calls or notifications. The phone is available in various colors, including a sage green and a soft pink called canyon. The camera hardware remains largely the same, with a 50-megapixel main camera and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens, both offering improved dynamic range and light capture.

The Pixel 11 Pro XL also includes the Pixel’s new Camera Looks tool, allowing users to apply creative color profiles to their photos.
