'That is his right': Fahmi on Wong Chen leaving PKR for Bersama

PUTRAJAYA - PKR information chief Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil commented on Wong Chen's departure from the party to join Bersama, asserting that it is Wong's right to make such a decision. This occurred following the sponsorship handover ceremony for the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations. Wong, who represented the Subang constituency since 2013, relinquished his parliamentary seat before announcing his move to Bersama, a party established by former PKR leaders Rafizi Ramli and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

Wong's exit is the third from the government bloc in a short span, with Rafizi and Nik Nazmi also leaving their party positions and parliamentary seats earlier this year to create Bersama. Following Wong's shift, he became ineligible for the MyKhas special allocation portal, which was shared among five PKR backbenchers who protested the party's alleged misuse of power to deny them access to the allocation.
