STILL ON OSUN GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

Political unrest has gripped Osun State in the lead-up to its gubernatorial election on Saturday, prompting authorities to urgently address the escalating violence. The state's elections are meant to allow citizens to freely select their leaders, not turn into a site of political conflict. With reports of 29 deaths due to political violence, the situation is deeply concerning.

Alongside these fatalities, there have been unexplained abductions and arrests involving politicians and supporters of different candidates, which threaten to undermine the electoral process's credibility. Furthermore, allegations of misconduct by security agencies, especially the Nigeria Police, add to the growing tensions.
