Sheriff Country's Morena Baccarin Fought The FBI In This Short-Lived NBC Crime Drama

Morena Baccarin, currently known for her role as a sheriff in the CBS police procedural Sheriff Country, once faced off against the FBI in a different capacity on a short-lived NBC crime drama called The Endgame. Three years prior to her portrayal of Sheriff Country's titular character, Baccarin starred in The Endgame in February 2022.

The show followed her character, Elena Federova, a criminal mastermind orchestrating simultaneous high-level bank heists, with FBI agent Val Turner, played by Ryan Michelle Bathé, hot on her trail. Created by Nicholas Wootton and Jake Coburn, The Endgame lasted 10 episodes before cancellation in May 2022 due to low viewership. The series began with 3.3 million viewers in the pilot, but struggled to maintain an average of 2 million viewers for the next four episodes, dipping to 1.5 million for the remaining episodes.

Despite having enough viewers to continue for a full season, dwindling numbers signaled the end. The show also received poor reviews, scoring 33 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and garnering an 82 percent audience score. While critics disliked the series, Baccarin's performance was praised for its charisma and campy quality. Despite Baccarin's positive reception, The Endgame ultimately failed to capture viewers' interest.
