Sharjah to add 1,222 parking spaces in Al Khan and Al Mamzar

The Sharjah Municipality is set to enhance parking facilities in Al Khan and Al Mamzar, with five parking areas projected to accommodate a total of 1,222 spaces upon completion. Khalid Al Hammadi, the Head of Parking Services at Sharjah City Municipality, revealed that two parking areas have already been constructed in Al Khan, catering to 682 vehicles.

Three more parking areas are currently under development within the same regions, designed to host an additional 540 vehicles, thus increasing the overall capacity to 1,222 spaces. Al Hammadi disclosed these developments during an interview with Sharjah’s Direct Line programme. The expansion aims to provide more parking options in the densely populated areas of Al Khan and Al Mamzar, as the municipality continues its initiatives to improve parking services and accessibility throughout the city.

Sharjah Municipality already maintains parking facilities in both Al Khan and Al Mamzar. The municipality imposes a fee for parking in Aljada. From July 1, Sharjah will extend paid parking hours until midnight across the entire emirate. Sharjah has also recently opened Al Khan Park in a record time ahead of Eid Al Adha and is expanding its smart parking network with 2,421 AI-powered spaces.
