Alive or dead? Mystery deepens over Imran Khan’s fate

A Pakistani journalist has disclosed that three senior officers at the General Headquarters privately voiced concerns about the fate of former prime minister Imran Khan, who is currently in jail. According to a report by the Times of India, these officers expressed fears that Khan may no longer be alive, although the claim remains unverified.

The journalist, Wajahat Saeed Khan, made this revelation in a video shared on August 10. He clarified that the officers did not provide any evidence confirming Khan's death but shared their deep unease over the secrecy surrounding his imprisonment.

Pakistan's Inter-Services Public Relations dismissed Wajahat's report as false. However, Wajahat's assertion that the military's denial itself suggested Khan was still alive was met with skepticism. Additionally, claims emerged from Bushra Bibi's family that they had witnessed Khan walking on his own via jail CCTV footage. They reported that Khan was experiencing health issues, including vision loss and spikes in blood pressure.

The PTI, Imran Khan's political party, staged a protest outside the Supreme Court, demanding access to Khan's family and doctors. The protest was later called off after the court registrar assured party leaders that Khan's cases would be heard the following week. Khan, 73, has been in custody since August 5 following his conviction in the Toshakhana case and is currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail, facing multiple convictions and pending cases.
