Selangor Rail Line still in planning stage, completion targeted for 2060

As of August 12, the Selangor government remains in the discussion phase with various entities, both private and public, to determine the optimal development and financing strategy for the Selangor Rail Line. Ng Sze Han, the State Investment, Trade and Mobility Exco, disclosed that the Menteri Besar of Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, acts as the Technical Committee for Selangor Rail Development, evaluating the most promising development and financing model to be employed.

He also mentioned that the execution mechanism for the Selangor Rail Line is being fine-tuned to pinpoint the most lucrative and suitable approach. Ng clarified that, as with any extensive project like the Selangor Rail Line, involvement from both private sector entities and government agencies is inevitable, as confirmed during a Selangor State Legislative Assembly session.

According to the feasibility study conducted thus far, the initial phase of the project's development is projected to span a decade, encompassing the entire development sequence, from preliminary design preparation to comprehensive studies, Railway Scheme approval by the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), procurement, land acquisition, construction activities, and testing and commissioning.

The concluding phase of development, slated for completion by 2060, hinges on the effective implementation of the scheduled development stages.
