S. Korea, India vow closer ties in customs affairs

SEOUL, Aug. 12 - The South Korean customs agency has announced plans to strengthen collaboration with its Indian counterpart in customs affairs, aiming to streamline trade between the two nations. Representatives from the Korea Customs Service (KCS) held discussions with officials from India's Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs in New Delhi, urging the Indian government to assist South Korean businesses in navigating customs clearance procedures.

During the meeting, the KCS presented instances of South Korean companies operating in India facing challenges related to customs regulations, while also deliberating on bilateral cooperation initiatives, including training programs. Recognizing India's significance as a major partner in the Asia-Pacific region, the two countries aspire to further enhance their partnership to overcome obstacles encountered by South Korean firms attempting to export their products to India, stated Han Min, the KCS's director general for international affairs in a press release.
