Russia Can Produce Up to 80 S8000 “Banderol” Missiles Per Month — Ukraine’s Military Intelligence

Ukraine's Defense Intelligence Directorate (DIU) has reported that Russia is able to manufacture up to 80 S8000 "Banderol" missiles each month. These missiles possess a limited range of approximately 500 kilometers, which is the reason for their deployment from the occupied Crimea region towards targets in the Odesa area. The S8000 "Banderol," produced by the Russian company Kronshtadt, is equipped with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead weighing 114.3 kilograms, including 49.5 kilograms of explosives.

The missile can achieve a maximum speed of 620-650 km/h and a cruising speed of 520-560 km/h. In order to sustain this production rate, Russian defense enterprises function on three shifts. It has been suggested that Russia utilizes components from Western sources in the creation of these weapons, which enter the country via intermediaries, including businesses associated with Russian oligarchs and Russia's defense industry.

Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk recently disclosed that Russia altered its drone strike strategies as of mid-July, incorporating the intermittent use of "Banderol" loitering munitions and jet-powered Shahed-238 drones. Deputy Chief Vadym Skibitskyi of the Ukrainian military defense industry mentioned that Russia had surpassed production targets for numerous missile types in July, including Kh-101 and Kalibr missiles, with Kh-35 missiles reaching 200% of the planned output.
