Nashik: 5.56 Lakh SIR Forms Yet To Be Collected; Rural Constituencies Outpace Urban Areas

In Nashik, 5.56 lakh Special Intensive Revision (SIR) forms remain uncollected, constituting a 15.14 per cent non-collection rate out of the 36.71 lakh forms distributed throughout the district by August 11. The digitisation process has been completed at 100 per cent in Dindori and Igatpuri talukas, while Nashik West Assembly constituency has only achieved 60 per cent completion.

Nashik East, however, has reached an impressive 98.81 per cent completion rate. The district comprises a total of 5,104,494 voters, with 9,030,394 voters having received update forms. So far, 3,194,444 forms have been accounted for, leaving 556,950 forms yet to be collected.

Several rural Assembly constituencies have outperformed urban areas in the SIR process. Niphad, Dindori, and Igatpuri have achieved full completion at 100 per cent. Nandgaon, Yeola, Baglan, Kalwan, and Malegaon have also demonstrated commendable progress, with completion rates of 99.92 per cent, 96.92 per cent, 96.24 per cent, 96.74 per cent, and 98.80 per cent, respectively. Despite these successes, a significant amount of work remains outstanding in urban areas.

The deadline for the SIR process is August 17, and the administration is striving to complete the remaining work with full efforts. District Collector Ayush Prasad has emphasized the importance of identifying voters such as the physically challenged, elderly, and those with serious illnesses who were allowed to vote from home during the Assembly elections.

Prasad has urged citizens to fill out their applications promptly and complete the process as soon as possible. Orders have been issued to visit the residences of those unable to reach the polling station physically to facilitate their registration.
