Rod Stewart cancels remaining tour dates after undergoing heart surgery

British rock icon Rod Stewart has cancelled the remainder of his tour dates and his Las Vegas residency after undergoing heart surgery. The 81-year-old singer received a routine coronary stent procedure and is recovering well under his doctors' care. He will take four weeks to recuperate and regain fitness before returning to the stage.

Despite the setbacks, Stewart expressed gratitude to his medical team and fans, saying he is "deeply disappointed" to miss these performances but eager to return to the stage. The singer's announcement follows a recent postponement of his Cincinnati concert due to a minor medical procedure, as well as a cancellation of a show in Cleveland just 24 hours later.

Stewart had been on his One Last Time tour for a year, with two additional dates in Iowa and Kansas City before he was set to resume his Encore Shows residency in Las Vegas. The singer's recent cancellations include a recent show in Niagara Falls due to an aircraft mechanical issue, for which he apologized to fans.
