Rahul Chopra shines with bat and ball as UAE beat Canada by 97 runs

Rahul Chopra made an impressive return to the UAE team as they emerged victorious over Canada in Cricket World Cup League Two. The former captain delivered a stellar performance, scoring a magnificent 127 not out to bolster the national team's total of 282 for six from their 50 overs at Forthill Sports Club. Chopra, who previously kept wicket, added an unexpected twist to his performance by taking a crucial catch at mid-off, effectively ending Canada's hopes in the run chase.

In addition, he dismissed Canadian batter Aaron Johnson, who had been a formidable force throughout the match. Chopra's remarkable effort has seen him become the third-highest run-scorer for the UAE in ODI history, with his 127 not out v Canada in Dundee. This outstanding display has cemented his place in the ODI lineup, but may also reduce his value at the upcoming ILT20 auction.

Despite the comprehensive win, the UAE remain at the bottom of the competition, but still have eight matches to play. With enough points to secure their position in the top six, they have a chance to retain ODI status or even make it to the top four, albeit that is unlikely.
