Proteas star David Miller aims to end career with ICC World Cup victory in 2027

Veteran South African batsman David Miller has expressed his ambition to conclude his cricketing career by triumphing at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027, which will be hosted on South African soil. The tournament is set to take place in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia from October 4 to November 21, 2027. South Africa has yet to secure an ODI World Cup victory, having reached the semi-finals in 2023, ultimately falling to Australia in Kolkata.

Miller, eager to cap his career with a World Cup win, stated, "Finishing my career with a trophy would be an incredible goal to achieve." He expressed his enthusiasm for the prospect of competing for the title on home turf in front of his loyal fans, adding, "Being at home in front of our fans and in a place I've played for so many years would make it even more special."

Miller also shared his thoughts on his longevity and the art of finishing matches with finesse. "The fact that I've built my career batting in the middle order and mastering the art of finishing games is something I'm most proud of," he noted. Having spent over a decade in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Miller highlighted his title-winning experience with Gujarat Titans in 2022 as his favorite IPL moment.

The 37-year-old also singled out two high-pressure centuries – one against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL and another against Australia in Durban – as defining performances in his career.
