Police arrest two suspected kidnappers, rescue 10-year-old boy in Sokoto

In Sokoto State, police have made two arrests and rescued a 10-year-old boy who was reportedly kidnapped. The suspects, identified as Abdullahi Buba and two others, are believed to be part of a criminal gang responsible for abductions and collecting illegal fees in several local government areas.

Buba, also known as "Osho", was apprehended on August 8 during a raid in Tudun Doki Village. Precise details of the operation were not provided. However, he is said to have been involved in kidnappings and extorting communities. The police are leveraging his cooperation to track down remaining members of the gang.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Sufiyanu, a 10-year-old boy, was rescued on August 11 after going missing in Gidan Madi Town. His uncle alerted the police, who intercepted two individuals on a motorcycle with a concealed bag. The suspects abandoned the bag when confronted, leaving the boy inside. Rescued and treated at Gidan Madi General Hospital, he has since been discharged.

The police are continuing their investigations into both incidents. Commissioner of Police Hayatu Hassan Shaffa applauded the officers involved and urged residents to provide timely and reliable information to support their efforts to ensure safety and security in Sokoto State.
