Pérez pitches 6 more scoreless innings, Albies and Olson homer for Braves in 4-0 win over Mets

Martín Pérez extended his scoreless streak to 18 innings, placing it third on the major league list behind Drew Rasmussen and Sandy Alcantara. For Atlanta, Pérez (8-6) struck out six and walked none while allowing just three hits. Ozzie Albies and Matt Olson drove in the Braves' runs with a solo homer in the fifth and a two-run homer in the eighth, respectively.

Martín Pérez, who has not conceded a run since July, helped the injury-prone rotation and is the third-longest active starting streak in the majors. The Mets' Jefry Yan was wild, walking three and throwing a wild pitch that set up Olson's homer. Pérez only faced trouble in the sixth, when Bo Bichette walked with one out and quickly scored on Luis Robert Jr. 's single, but Carson Benge ended the threat with a double play.

The Braves had a solid defensive game, with Jim Jarvis making a crucial diving stop on a hard grounder by Aaron Boone. The Mets' A.J. Ewing and Juan Uribe also made outs in the second inning, but the call stood after the challenge. In their final series matchup, RHP Tyler Mahle (3-9, 4.83) will make his second start for Atlanta against Mets LHP Zac Thornton (3-2, 2.52).
