BTS' 'Arirang' remains on Billboard 200 for 20th consecutive week

SEOUL, Aug. 12 (Yonhap) -- South Korean boy band BTS has achieved an impressive milestone, maintaining a record-breaking 20-week presence on the Billboard 200 chart with their fifth studio album, Arirang. The album currently holds the No. 14 position on the chart, while their lead single, Swim, has reached the No. 91 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, according to the latest rankings released on Tuesday.

This 20-week run ties the record previously set by BTS's 2021 hit Butter for the longest-charting song by the band on the Hot 100. Netflix's animated movie KPop Demon Hunters featured BTS's original soundtrack, which climbed to No. 33 on the Billboard 200 chart. Meanwhile, rookie K-pop group Cortis released their single GreenGreen, which made a remarkable climb of 75 positions to reach No. 39 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Girl group Katseye's albums Beautiful Chaos and SIS (Soft Is Strong) were ranked No. 123 and No. 168, respectively. On the Hot 100 chart, BLACKPINK's lead vocalist Jennie was ranked No. 8 for her duet with Australian artist Tame Impala, Dracula. Katseye's track Animal was placed at No. 35, and the collaborative song Iconic by Mistake, featuring Katseye, Le Sserafim, and Illit, ranked at No. 88 on the Hot 100 chart.
