Parliament Monsoon Session Live: Amit Shah set to present two Bills before Rajya Sabha, FCRA Bill may go to JPC

On Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the government is prepared to hold a comprehensive discussion on the NEET protests in the Rajya Sabha. Referring to the Opposition's alleged obstruction of parliamentary proceedings, Shah emphasized that he has been attending Parliament regularly since its commencement and cannot understand why his presence alone demands action.

He urged the Opposition to allow Parliament to function, citing the need for term clarification like "laapata" and "bhaag gaye," which are increasingly prevalent in public and parliamentary discourse. Kiren Rijiju, the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, confirmed that the government is ready for an extensive debate starting at 3 PM, vowing to be available to address every point raised by the Opposition throughout the session.

Shah reiterated his readiness to answer any parliamentary question, insisting that the government lacks anything to conceal, and challenging the Opposition to submit a letter to the Speaker by noon today, thereby challenging them to engage in a full discussion from 3 PM today until 3 PM tomorrow.
