Pakistan’s AI Initiative to Get Laptops, LED Displays and More

Pakistan's National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Advancement Initiative (NAAI) is set to receive new digital and office equipment from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT). This move aims to bolster the infrastructure supporting Pakistan's AI projects. The procurement, part of the government's efforts to enhance artificial intelligence capabilities in the country, will provide the initiative with essential computing, printing, scanning, and presentation resources for its ongoing and future activities.

The Request for Proposal (RFP) outlines that the MoITT will purchase various equipment in four lots. These include 19 laptops, printing and scanning devices, a photocopier, a multimedia projector, and four 75-inch LED displays. The ministry has emphasized that all supplied equipment must be new, free of defects, and accompanied by warranties. Additionally, arrangements for installation and after-sales support are mandatory.

Bidders are invited to participate in the procurement process through the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority’s electronic system, with physical submissions also accepted. The deadline for submitting bids is August 25, 2026, at 11:00 am. The bids are set to be opened at 11:30 am on the same day, underscoring the urgency of the procurement process. This initiative is a significant step in equipping Pakistan's NAAI with the necessary infrastructure to drive its AI-related projects forward.
