Norwegian FM to visit Pakistan on Aug 13-14, first such visit in a decade

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide is scheduled to visit Pakistan from August 13-14, marking the first such trip by a Norwegian minister in over a decade. The visit, as announced by the Foreign Office, aims to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation, trade, and investment between the two nations. It will focus on a range of topics, including climate change, renewable energy, education, and personal connections between the people of both countries.

The discussions will also cover important regional and global developments. The Norwegian diplomat has previously commended Pakistan's role in de-escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly during the conflict between Iran and the United States. The visit provides an opportunity for Pakistan and Norway to deepen their longstanding and friendly relationship and to identify new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

In May, when Eide visited Norway, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with his Norwegian deputy to discuss regional matters.
