NBEMS clarifies NEET PG 2026 discrepancy: Which test city should candidates refer to?

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has clarified a discrepancy regarding test city allocation for NEET PG 2026. Candidates have reported receiving conflicting information about their allotted test city through SMS and email versus the information displayed on the NBEMS applicant portal. NBEMS stated that technical issues led to incorrect test city information being communicated via SMS to some candidates, although corrected information has since been sent through SMS and email.

The board has also updated the correct test city details on the applicant portal for all candidates. The clarification emerged after NEET PG 2026 candidates expressed concerns on social media about receiving different test cities through various communication channels. Some candidates reported receiving a test city from the SMS that was not among the three states they had selected during the application process.

Others raised similar concerns, with some mentioning cities such as Dhanbad, Churachandpur, and Bilaspur, which were not among their selected options. Candidates were also unsure whether to trust the SMS or the portal as the final source of information. NBEMS emphasized that test city allocation for NEET PG 2026 would not be based on a first-come, first-served basis, and early application submission would not grant preferential treatment for a specific test city, state, or center.

The board advised candidates to refer to the official applicant portal for accurate information regarding their allotted test city. The NEET PG 2026 examination is scheduled for August 30, 2026.
