My studio caught fire after I ignored God’s warning to ditch secular music – Perez Musik

Gospel artist Perez Musik recounted the day his recording studio caught fire, which led him to abandon secular music and embrace his Christian faith. On The Career Trail on Joy Learning TV and Joy News, he explained that he had received prophetic warnings to move away from secular music, but ignored them, recording local artists in his studio.

Perez Musik mentioned enjoying the secular music and working with various local artists, including Anita Erskine on her Fashion 101 project. He had invested in new studio equipment, despite having a premonition about the fire. On December 24, he woke up to find his studio engulfed in flames. Though the loss was painful, Perez Musik regarded it as a turning point in his life, prompting him to focus more on church activities, prayer, and Bible study.

He also quit drinking and smoking, taking his Christian faith more seriously. Perez Musik revealed he had sensed a prophetic gift within him but hesitated to accept the responsibility it entailed. Eventually, his spiritual transformation impacted his music, leading to the creation of his urban gospel album, Tenacity, which marked a new chapter in his career.

He also explained the inspiration behind his new name, Perez, drawing from the biblical story of Tamar and Judah in Genesis - symbolizing his transition from a previous lifestyle to a new one centered on his faith.
