'Much more than meets the eye': Rahul targets PM after US court drops case against Adani

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed strong dissatisfaction on Wednesday following a US court's dismissal of a criminal case against businessman Gautam Adani. In a post on X, Gandhi questioned the legitimacy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that Modi had compromised India's interests. On Monday, a federal judge in New York dismissed the nearly two-year-old case against Adani and other accused individuals, citing multiple reasons including the foreign nature of the conduct and lack of evidence of misconduct.

The lawsuit, filed in November 2024, accused Adani, his nephew Sagar Adani, and six others of conspiring to bribe government officials to secure a solar power contract. Adani and his group denied the allegations, asserting that their actions complied with all relevant laws and regulations. Judge Nicholas Garaufis had previously expressed doubt about the Department of Justice's decision to drop the charges, requesting additional clarification.

Adani praised the court's ruling, expressing gratitude for those who remained faithful to him, the system, and India's justice system.
