List of all 26 judges on vacation nationwide and their courts

There has been a controversy surrounding the selection of judges to sit on cases during legal vacations nationwide. Lawyers Godfred Dame and Atta Akyea have petitioned the Chief Justice to protest the continuation of cases against their clients. Dame is defending former CEO Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba and his wife, while Akyea is defending former Director-General Kwabena Adu-Boahene and his wife.

The cases involve politically exposed persons, former officials from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration. This has led to allegations that the Chief Justice has selectively chosen cases involving NPP members for the vacation court. However, the Chief Justice has authorized 26 judges nationwide to sit during the vacation, handling all substantive cases in their respective courts.

These judges are located in various regions including Greater Accra, Eastern, Central, Northern, Western, Ashanti, Volta, and Upper East. They also have additional responsibilities for other courts to hear motions and emergency processes. Despite this, there is a suggestion that the vacation courts are only supposed to handle motions, but this is incorrect.
