Messi, an eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, said he is struggling to comprehend the loss of his father, who died at the age of 68 following hospitalization during the World Cup.

He revealed that his father had been by his side since the beginning of his career and had even served as his agent and business manager. Messi wrote, "You kept asking me to play in the last World Cup, and it was just days before it started that you took a turn for the worse." He added, "Every time a match ended, I'd wait for your message and miss it."

Messi expressed his regret for not being able to play a match alongside his father and how it affected him emotionally. Despite his physical limitations, Messi tried his best to prolong his career, hoping to give his father the opportunity to watch him win a trophy and enjoy another match with him.
